Lean Into Lent
As we prepare for the Lenten season, we want to share some ways your organization can lean into the spirit of Lent through social media posts, specific calls to action and a 40 day prayer guide.
What is Lent? And why is it important to your Mission?
Lent is a 40 day period of preparation that comes before Easter. Meant to mirror the 40 days Jesus fasted in the wilderness, the 40 days of Lent are used to fast, pray and focus our mindset on Jesus and the gift He gave on the cross. But these days are also challenging, as many of us are not used to fasting. We don’t often skip meals or go without things we need or want.
However, for many of the residents you serve, fasting has been commonplace in their lives. They’ve had to go without food, shelter or new clothes. And this humbling reminder can also be a great thing to talk about during this Lenten season.
Timely Talking Points and Calls to Action
You can use the themes of Lent as talking points for your mission on social media. In addition to this, you can utilize calls to action that match your themes to increase your post engagement.
You can download an editable Word document of the 40 Days of Prayer here.
We encourage you to lean into the Lenten season. Use the themes of fasting, preparation, prayer and Christ to help you focus your posts and encourage donors to become more involved.
